Did more tuning, figured out a much better wasted spark solution than I've seen used yet...installing that soon for 15+ psi raping. Not enough time under boost yet, runs WAY too rich to the point of spark breakup right now. Leaned out a bunch of stuff manually (but still safe values).

I have to say apart from having an awsome street machine. You also have a good looking car to go along with that grunt. Nice work mate

          Thanks!

here it is rolling down to bimmerfest east with the crew from european performance

finally sorted out the low-boost tune (had to swap wastegate springs) by the drive back, 65 to 125 happens way too fast. Builds 12lbs of boost in less than a second according to my MS logs.

just need to do the ARPs/plugs now (on that lazy time)

I am using the closed loop DIY autotune setup. The writeup on e30tech is bad and the closed loop code has been working for lots of folks since ms2 3.0.x. I soldered the transistor to FIDLE since I don't have an idle valve. Depending on your board, the other options tunerstudio has may need to be jumpered from the processor for some stupid reason.

try to find the turbobricks write up on closed loop boost control. My values aren't perfect yet, it still overshoots boost, but closed loop spools much faster than the duty cycle nonsense people have been doing. A standalone is a better solution overall since the logic is built internally, but MS controls to true manifold pressure.

Without my head built and plugs dialed in (adding wasted spark soon) I'm really out of the ideal range for the turbo - it 'wants' to be more like 15psi, it feels like. Also, with the closed loop DIYautotune setup, the wastegate adds boost OVER your spring, and if it fails, it fails to the spring boost setting....so if you try to control to 12psi with a 15psi spring, nothing happens.

Car looks really nice and running well, we need some good boost pulls or in car vid.

As soon as I get the ARPs on I will take in car vid, probably not this weekend though...it's still not exactly registered with the state due to the exhaust.

How are you tuning the ignition tables. Det cans?

I'm just using a relatively safe (read: stolen then retarded) table until I get dyno time. Tuning to detonation seems idiotic, the only way to do it right is to start conservatively and approach minimum best torque.

I will probably wait to do this until I can get passes with my coolingmist methanol kit on so I can optimize the timings for meth

There should be a TON of tables out there for your car, as long as everything is in good condition. I'd make sure to seafoam the engine as a matter of course, and have the right (colder) plugs, but generally the ballpark for the tune will be the same based on the head design compression etc.

I mean, think about chips, the advance there is hardcoded. . .

I have two step colder plugs and i have a pretty basic ignition map. But i would like to dial it in more then where its at i feel like i hear detonation but im not positive that it is or if its just the harmonics of the motor at that rpm.

                            btw is this Justin?

NGKB7ES is a good heat range, gap them to .025.
