This was my first engine swap, and I have to say I've learned so much just by working on the swap and engine rebuilt process myself with some help from my local friends (you know who you are!)
2 years later, 2011 SM championship and enduro championship later it's time for it to find a new home.
I had some trouble with it passing smog earlier this year, I've learned first hand that the Magnaflow California Legal (the only cat you can use to BAR the swap here in CA state) don't last very long!
After checking every single engine component/sensor it came down to a cat, so I ended up buying another Magnaflow cat to get my new tags 2 years later.
SMOG tech was having a hard time getting traction on the dyno, I stopped by with my race tires on the car LOL.
rpm 1881- %co2 15.1; %o2 meas 0.0; HC 2; CO% 0.00; NO 7
rpm 1858 -%co2 15.1; %o2 meas 0.0; HC 1; CO% 0.00; NO 59
Now my plan is to get Magnaflow to warranty my first cat since I can include both smog tests BEFORE and AFTER, with two of the same CATS, 2 year old and NEW.
I have some big changes planned for my car, so unfortunately my SCCA season is now over and I'll be back next season with bigger and better things :)
