    M30 running REALLY rich

Car is running super rich. It pulls harder at quarter throttle than WOT. At WOT it just bogs down and will slowly rev then at about 5k rpm it stops and just starts popping a crackling, it sometimes does this around 4k rpm as well. Also, at steady throttle it sort-of sputters and pops but runs fine when any throttle is given or all the way off throttle. At times the car also seems to run better than others.

    SPECS:
    m30b35
    292 cam
    brand new plug wires
    plugs just re-gapped
    brand new o2 sensor
coolant sensor switched out with another I had
    Miller WAR chip and MAF

I know the tune could possibly be at fault but I would like to rule out any other possible issues.

    Thanks, Tyler.

Are you blowing black smoke out the exhaust? If so, when? The description is a bit vague ( though it usually is hard to describe somethign like that).

By AFM do you mean Miller MAF? That would be my first suspect, I've heard of people having running issues with those. Try running a regular AFM and stock chip and see if it does the same thing.

Next thing I'd look at is the condition of your injectors.

Motor was in my brothers car and ran hard as is. Only thing I changed was new plug wires and new wiring harness..and it did sit for about a year..

The best way is to check by a wideband gauge how much your a/f ratio?

What injectors size do you run?

HAve someone follow you as well and see when your blowing that black smoke..at least then you'll know approximately when your turning to full rich if you don't have a wideband...

No clue how old the fuel pump is, but I did test fuel pressure when I was originally trying to get the motor running and pressure was good.

                            Here are the current problems:
-Starter ground wire (from top post to ground) get super hot when cranking over. Fried one wire!
-With stock ecu it still only revs slowly at part throttle, and bogs way down with any more than quarterish throttle.

                            HELPPPP!!!!!! :(:(

Definitely should try the original AFM for the m30b35 because when I was using the miller maf on my m30b35 swap the idle would stay high at about 900-1000 rpm, but once I put back the oem AFM the idle was perfect. I was also having black smoke come out at times and it ended up being the external fuel pump.

Also when putting back the AFM don't forget to put the spliced wires to the ecu back to normal.
