They still make 200hp stock, so it isnt exactly like they are useless.

I doubt that old unit is still making that. Now if you wanted to update the head and newer F.I. and newer Motronic 1.3 yes it would be a decent lump.
I'm not saying they are junk, just you have no real knowledge of it's history and if you spend $450 and then need to rebuild it plus make engine mounts for it and exhaust. This project will devoir your budget.Comment

Basically look at the side of the block under the intake, and see if it has a 3.5, 3.3 or something else stamped. If 3.5 then it's worth it, if not don't bother.85 325e 2.7 ITB'd stroker

They do, It was George who had the screw up. I had mine shipped to Greg in Germany then he brought them over and shipped from the U.S.85 325e 2.7 ITB'd stroker
