Supercharge it! That's half the reason I wanted a m30 swap, to build a supercharger for it. TORQUES!

From what I remember, if you have that trans harness then yes you should be alright... I have a few of the switches for economy and sport as well as a gear selector cover from a 5 series with eh... Pm me your info and I'll send them so you can see if they'll be of any use...
I just remembered something else, there was a plug for the dash that shows the gear it's in (digital) but maybe you can just bypass that option... May have had something to do with speedo and rpms too, don't recall... Also, the output may be different from your e30 driveshaft.

Well fellers, I'm about to take on the same deal. I got a m30 and a 4hp22, but mine is the electronic one. I'd love to try to get it to work as it was intended. From what I've read, it would be a sport/economy switch and some other bits. My m30 came with the auto harness and ecu and the trans came with its harness and ecu so it should be relatively cut and dried, right? What are the best resources for m30 and 4hp-22 transmission reading? Good read guys!Last edited by Ether-D; 07-08-2014, 11:52 AM.

It's way too loud to drive at 4 am to work, hopefully the resonators will help with that... Once I get all the cooling kinks worked out I'll get some better footage...

Each wire only has two ends... it doesn't get much simpler than that ;)
One wire at a time.

Yes, but you'll need the m30 bellhousing. Be careful not to let it all fall apart when you remove bellhousings. Try standing it up on it's tail so gravity works with you.

If you use the one with the m30 then you'll probably have an eh which requires all that mess. With the regular 4hp22 all you'll need is the right throttle body and a different kickdown cable. Oh, and the right bell housing.
