e34 transmission for my m30

My 260/6 has a broken tab and while looking for a new tranny found this e34 525i part out on craiglist, what tranny's did this car come with? Need a direct replacement.

It is going to be an M20 trans so Getrag 260 which won't work. I would personally have the tab tig welded back assuming the rest of the trans is good.

Had a broken mounting tab on my m30 tranny, tab was completely gone. Had a local guy weld one up for me. Super easy fix for someone with the ability and equipment to weld aluminum.

aight, my shop wasn't sure if their new welder was strong enough. but I'll look around. How much it put you back?

I had a broken tab on my 260/6. Had a friend weld it with a mirror while installed! It can be done.

it wont be the right tranny for the m30. If youre in a pinch, you can use the m10 getrag 240 trans but then youd have to change your clutch as well.

The tranmission has to come from an m10, m30, s14, s38, and i believe m88 and m90.

Find a car with one of those engines, and the transmission will bolt up. Though your clutch, shifter, and driveshaft may not
