You should probably get Franks m30 swap guide.

There are a lot of parts needed, but the only thing that makes it harder than the m50 swaps is the custom engine mounts and a custom drive shaft

Yep, members f34r and good&tight sell swap mounts for b35 motors. Qbang sells swap mounts for b34 motors.

I just had a local driveshaft shop shorten mine. It cost 40 dollars

Thanks for the rep bud =)

You can use a SETA drive shaft, DIRECT FIT! I am using it on mine right now. Needs to be a 5spd shaft, and I have a set of mounts ready to ship. Let me know if you want them.

Good info, I'm planning a swap now. I don't have the car, but I'm researching as much as possible. I hate surprises that can happen mid-swap. Plan for the worst, hope for the best!!!!

You'll also need a radiator from an E28 535i - thinner than the M20 radiator. They can be had brand new for about $140.

Go with a Mishimoto e36, lifetime coverage on EVERYTHING. Fits great with my m30.

Really? Are the outlets in the right locations?

Yeah I thought the reason you. Couldn't use them was because of the m 30 raditior has its coolant hoses in different places

Exactly. I know of a member here who made it work with some interesting hose routing, but one of the hoses was super close to an accessory pulley/belt.

I am happy with my e28 rad, near perfect condition out of a junkyard
