alright so I drove an hour and a half to my (secret) junk yard :) there is two cars that have m30s in them... I have already done a bunch of research on them and for the price I have really been wanting to do it... I have never done a swap before but have confidence in myself.... what do you guys think? would it be worth it in your opinion?

do it!
Dont let others discourage you. Its a pretty simple swap really. First one i have ever done and it runs good. Runs side by side with my friends m52 car.
What cars do they have with m30's? I would suggest looking for an e34 535 engine if you can, they are set up a little better than the older ones.
Also, if you have a late model 325, you can use your original wiring harness. Just have to extend some wires to various sensors.

Go for it and make sure your wiring is in great shape (test all important wires for resistance) or carefully repair any marginal wires and connectors before the m30 is in the bay so you don't go crazy after the engine is installed trying to track down electrical gremlins.Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. -Mark Twain

Sounds like a lot of people give a thumbs up on this swap... I really want to do it... Although I know NOTHING about wiring guys.. I can rebuild the motor and get it all setup but the wiring will be the only thing holding me back.. Idk how to test any wires or plugs honestly........ And yes.... Secret junk yard ;) I will reveal where once I get all the parts I need since every other yard I go to people take all the good shizz

Start by researching solder vs. crimp connectors. Talk to Luke about that;). Seriously it is a nice swap. You could just do a MarkD chip, flywheel, and 3.46 and be pretty happy is my guess.Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. -Mark Twain
