    E24 vs e34 AFM Sensor?

When I was hoarding parts to prepare for my swap I picked up a clean looking AFM sensor with ICV from a crashed e34 535i even though I already had the e24 one sans ICV.

I ended up running the e34 one because it looks nicer, but I was wondering if running the newer sensor on an older motronic (with turner chip in the ecu if that makes any difference) would cause any problems?

Car seems to run ok, but I dont have much knowledge of these cars to compare.

The car has some power surges when on the gas fairly hard, not sure if its normal for these, or not.

No, it will give you slightly increased air flow due to the extra 0.5 inch diameter opening. The E34 535 AFM is very close to performance of the e30 M3 AFM.
