what diameter are these boosters compared to stock one? how much extra room is there?

In my case with the E34 M5 booster,, i made a square hole in the firewall and pulled the booster about 1/2 " or 10 mm to the left to be SURE the intake manifold would not touch the booster,, but this HILUX booster is a lot smaller vs the M5 booster so that is ,,i think,, i very good solution

surely the smaller booster reduces the assist dramatically being a cross sectional area thing (diameter^2)?

was there ever a solution to the booster problem for this? Does the Hilux booster work or is the e34 m5 booster+master the answer?

What about going boosterless? Wilwood reverse mount pedals with mastercylinders under the dash? Our boosterless setup works well for our v8 customers.

Although pedal will be stiffer it will not be unmanageable when used with small master cylinders (they compensate for being unboosted).

If I was going to do this, I'd go MS for sure. Seems like the most suitable choice to me. Only reason I ask about the booster is because Hartge got it to work, so why can't we?

Hartge never changed the e30 brake booster. Hartge modified the s38 intake. Also Hartge had special adjustable motor mounts and a 9 quart oil pan and oil pump. That is how Hartge could make the s38 fit in the e30. Hartge never used sub frame spacers.

Trevor, any up dates? I have a feeling you are going to have your itbs done before me.

Interesting, did not know that's how they made it work. Do you have any more info on how the setup works? I want to do the same thing on my m30.

Here is the newest solution,, and maybe the best so far

This is a brakebooster from a toyota HILUX,, 4wd,, i am not sure about year etc etc ,, but will find out if needed,,

As you can see this is a S50 Euro swap,, and there is a lot less space with S50 EURO vs S38,, because of the shape of the intake manifold,,
