    B35 hibernation mode with MS3X

Been doing some work on my m30. LS truck coils and airbox build. Also am selling my old B35 air box with AFe filter and larger snorkel. The subframe is not from my car but is just another project. I have a lot of work to do before spring.
I would have kept my modified B35 air cleaner setup but the plug wires contact it with the new coil set up.

Thanks. I will post more when I have made some progress. I am using 3" tube to the airbox and then a 6" bellmouth and a decent cone filter. The box will be aluminum with a screw on top and some type of insulation.. "While I was in there" I also lowered the steering column a bit and am adding a Tekniq QR Momo wheel but have to figure out how to have a functioning horn. Went with a Jaffster knob on a UUC shifter. After I finish the airbox I have to figure out the cam sensor location. My next project is staying stock lol

Why on earth would you want to do that?

This project is taking a long time due to limited funds and re doing many things but my intent is to keep the car a long time. My goal is to have a relatively lightweight and agile vert with just a few power accessories including windows and stereo. I may experiment with a different non powered steering rack but for now i am using a powered 95 M3 unit. Central locking and AC are completely gone. Bumpers have been significantly lightened; not just tucked. I also have removed more weight in other areas as well.

What's it being lightened for? Are you going to track it? I'm just trying to figure out where you're going with your build.

I am lightening the car so it has more of the feel of an older more raw BMW. It won't be tracked but will be taken on hard mountain drives and to an occasional autoX. I wanted to make the maximum use of the power I will have so weight loss seemed like a no brainer. After all who needs A/C in a vert? I also lost a good bit of reciprocating and unspring weight in an attempt to keep the car fun. However, I did manage to GAIN about 60 pounds with LukeBox and amp but some things I can't live without. I am Keeping ABS too.

Made some progress and changes including my cold air box, a 3.5 bar FPR, relay setup, etc. I'm still figuring out the wiring. I may get the car running and then re-do the harness later to clean it up more but that is way down the road.

The canister lid came from Rogue Engineering and I'm running oil temp and pressure from it to a digital gauge in the center dash vent.

I got the control arms when they were still relatively cheap. They still have less than 10K on them.

OK BMWGirl I will post some pics of the swap in an earlier stage...Your help was and is greatly appreciated.

The engine bay paint was cheap but durable Ford engine or tractor paint if I remember correctly. Function over form.

Here are some more pics. They are in no particular order.
My battery relocation. This shows the aluminum piece for the hold down bracket. I also added an additional ground cable from the battery negative terminal that is not shown in this picture.

                              Battery cable.

                              Decent clearance I think.

Showing the fan gasket. I need all the airflow I can get,

I trimmed the tray a bit.

Lots of room at the CAB.

I ground off a little for clearance.

The cam I used. They offer a more aggressive N31 grind but I don’t have the specs.

I had to Mod the hose a bit and used a coupling from Pegasus Racing.

The Bavauto header collector goes all the way to the end of the 260/6.

Y pipe from Summit and resonator.

                              Big Guibo

                              That’s all for now…
