    M30b32 Wiring

Hey all, I'm looking to swap an M30 into an 85 318i using the G240 trans and such. I have a b35 and a spare i wiring harness from an 87 325is, but I'm hesitant to tackle mating the early and late style harnesses. There is an M30b32 for sale locally for cheap, would I be better off going with that or even a Frankenstein b35 short block with b32 head and electrics?

I know the downsides are the engine management being more basic on the b32 and the head not flowing as well, but I've also heard the b35 short block with b32/34 head will get a good street NA compression ratio and that the b32 cam isn't that inferior to the b35. This is going to be my daily so huge power/turbo potential/internet cool factor don't really play into my decision.

    Thanks guys.

Basically I'm looking for a plug and play, C101-connectable, no hassle harness because I'm in school and want to finish this quick. If a b34 from an earlier E28 would have the same connectors I'd be willing to go that way too.

Just get a b35 they are
      Direct fitment to the e30
Chassis you'll just need the b35 to e30 mounts. For the wiring harness there is no plug and play for early model e30's your gonna have to make c101 adapter using both body and motor sides of the harness. I had bimmerguy2002 on mye28 make mine when he made my 1.3
Mototronic conversion kit for my b34

The wiring isn't overly difficult - just grab Franks guide & study carefully. A bit of solder & some reading / learning cost next to nothing vs. the cost of an adaptor.

Motronic 1.3 isn't particularly complicated vs more modern EFI.
