Right on... I am game. I wanted to try and recover at least 2000 out of the other car, which would be the shell. It is an 89 4dr 325 5spd. All original. No major issues, a nick and ding here and there but not many at all. No rust.

$2000 for a shell... sorry buddy i have played that game before. Call up any E30 salvage yard and you can get a decent e30 shell for a couple hundred bucks.

That was my point. And its not like I am trying to sell it. besides wouldnt have been just a shell. Its the entire car, which is in great condition, minus the engine, thats all it would have been missing. He was asking and I responded. I would like to get a couple thousand out of it after switching engines. So I wasn't trying to sell the shell there buddy. As I stated before I was trying to recover some expenses on the car. And its a clean frickin car.

Read the entire post before you comment.

Looks like instead I have a buyer for the whole car for $3300. Quite the "shell" wouldnt you say?!

Well I am going to be pulling it, but as I always say, I change my mind like a vegas stripper changes outfits. So the route I would have taken a couple months back with this, is now drastically different. Seeing as I have the S eta bottom. Well thats all I am going to say :)

Standard e30's are easy to do but an iX would be a little harder. You will have to swap oil pans and that means thats you might have to remove the front diff too seeing that one of the front drive axles runs straight through it!!! There are probably some other differences too but I couldn't say what, I have never done an iX before.

Yanno, if you have a 220 outlet, I could bring my compressor...in the Astro.
