    PNW Engine trade!?

I have two e30's. I just need someone to help me or show me (I'm willing to pay) switch the two engines. One for the other. Pretty simple swap and guys have told me they do them on a saturday. Anyone able to help me? Both run fine. Help me!?

That was a 40 minute bump. Are you a creatin? As for the swap it is direct and staright forward. It can easily be done in a weekend. If I was in the area I would help you but Im not. I assume you have the tools and an engine hoist? If so then just start taking stuff apart.

      Here is a basic guide.
      1 Jack the car up
      2 remove the exhaust
3 remove the dust shield under the car.
      4 remove the drive shaft
5 remove the diff... assuming you are swaping the entire driveline
      6 remove the hood
7 drain engine block of coolant.. do the oil too while you are there
      8 remove radiator..drain that too
9 remove power steering hoses.... it makes a mess
      10 remove ac hoses
11 disconnect engine harness from chassis harness
      12 pull the engine/trans out

The rest is just done in reverse. It not a complete list just what I throught up in 30 seconds. When you dig in and have more specifc questions just ask and someone on here will certainly help you. Or are you just looking for someone to do it for you... they are in the phonebook under mechanics. If you just dig in and start doing it at the very least I can point you in the right direction. Is that the help you were looking for?

Nah, I don't want someone else to do it, just maybe lend a helping hand every so often between beers :) I just havent ever attempted anything this extreme. But I want to!! With a little guidance of course

For two pair of hands M20-to-M20 swaps really are a one day project. Too bad you're on the wrong coast. I'd help out for the fee of a case of good beer.

          Good luck.

There is quite a group of guys in the PNW that would help out for beer I would think. Be patient and they will find this topic.

I would drive both my cars up there. But where? and I would have to bring all my tools up, ugh, anyone in portland area?
