garagistic mounts, position 3. pounded about an inch on the passenger side to clear the head.
also, I dremeled the intake manifold a wee bit to clear the brake booster. before i did this i couldn't get the motor mounts to seat flush.Leave a comment:

Running e30.de mounts in P3, I only needed the most minor of mods with the B35. The engine dropped in with just the bulkhead insulation removed, and then I gave it a small hit near the starter where it barely touched. Then I pushed the bulkhead back with a bar about 3mm for clearance at the back of the head.
I an running the Getrag 240 box though, which might make a difference for gearbox clearance - the 240 is tiny.
If you happen to bash the firewall on a RHD car just remember that there's a long brake linkage to think about back there too!Leave a comment:

I didn't need to modify the driver's side firewall at all but pushed in the passenger side a lot both behind the head and below it as well to create plenty of clearance for long tube headers. I used Otis B35 mounts in the furthest back of the two mounting holes. I ended up removing the insulation from the cowl cover and I covered the modified firewall area with stick on shiny aluminum faced heat shield that is thinner than the factory sound deadening. I have a good amount of clearance with this setup but I'm not running A/C or a turbo.Leave a comment:

here's mine.
89 vert.
peeled off the rubberized sound deadening material and went at it with a 8lbs sledge and ball peen hammer.
I plan on recovering it with a thin film of somesort or simply re-shooting it with paint before I put the engine back in permanently.

I'm truly baffled how you did this.
I had to pull the power steering pump to swing my b34 in.
I also had to beat quite a bit to get the g265 bellhousing in without rubbing, and to clear the coolant pipe on the back of the b34 head, and also bent the brake line that runs from the master cylinder to the LF wheel up over the valve cover to make sure it wouldn't get pinched in between.
The b34 is a TIGHT fit to the firewall on q-bang mounts, but once it's in it looks so good.
I managed to get mine in and keep my ps pump on but I didn't have AC. You are correct on everything you did to your firewall I did all that exactly. I'm running QBANG mounts aswell.Leave a comment:
