Which selector rod should I use?? M30+G260(m30)

    Hey folks...

I've misplaced my selector rod I was going to use for my M30 swap.

    I have M30 engine mated to a M30G260 transmission.

I'm issing all the components from a M20b25 shifting arm, with the exception of the shifter rod in which I don't have.

Part # 11 in the below diagram.

should I get the shifter rod from a E34 or E30?
I don't want to have the shifter all cockeyed in the cabin...

Alternatively, what other rods could be used instead?

I used all e34 shifting parts for my swap. Had to shorten them by about 17mm

Yeah I think I used m20 stuff, didn't do anything to it

also used stock M20 stuff with no mods. There's a slightly shorter and a slightly longer M20 selector rod - look for the shorter one.

Ended up finding the longer one
I'll need to shorten it, but won't get a measurement until everything is in the car.

they're only about 5mm different in length, it's not a huge deal but your shift knob will sit a bit further forward

The selector rod I have doesn't allow the the arm to sit level...not even close. It's going to be at least a 2" cut I'm guessing.
I got the rod for free, was told it was from an e30, but wasn't sure which engine.

do you have a getrag 260 or 265?

selector rod might have been from a m42 car.

                      Getrag 260.
                      I have a feeling it's from a m42.
Either way I did manage to get the proper one :)

which one is the proper one?
also are you running a shifter plate or the more modern setup?
