Position II (the more forward position is the hole that is on the left)
Position III (the hole on the right) is the more rearward position for the motor.

Think about it. That is the passenger side motor mount bracket. Think about how it's oriented

I believe I am *slightly* more forward than Pos2, and I could have used the E driveshaft had I used a 260.

I almost wish I had used the E34 or E32 motor. The fact that I have an M30b35 from an E24 makes e-comparisons quite difficult.

Frank, can you give me the distance from each position hole to the top left block hole? (or anyone that has de mounts readily available).

Is it the head that doesnt allow it to go in pos 3 without hammering the firewall. Where do I exactly hammer?

Mine is more into the tunnel/top of the tunnel but you have to beat in a lot of the area. Just start hitting and afterward spray it with POR-15 so it stays rust free You'll have to hit alittle on the sides too

While B35 doesn't have one on that spot.

no, that's a b35. I was just linking that thread to show where he hammered the firewall in

RHD cars most definitely can use pos. III to whoever said they can't but it is very easy to really rape your brake linkage. I went a bit overboard with the hammer and had to beat it back out from the inside
