    Help: m30 purchase

So ive been contacting someone on craigslist with an m30 for sale that he says came out of a 1991 735i. I assumed that this would be an m30b35 since it would be an e32. however just to be safe i asked him to remove the exhaust manifold and send me a picture of the ports since that seems to be the only easy way to differentiate the m30b35 and m30b34 (b35 has more kidney shaped ports b34 are more rounded) The picture he sent however shows rounded squareish ports like what would be on b34s. Basically i want to know if theres any way that this is in fact a b35 (maybe i just have my facts mixed or something) because i didnt think 1991 could have came with an m30b34. Any input is appreciated. I would upload the pic but im on my phone at the moment and cant seem to upload it

Unless he did an engine swap where he put an older m30 in then he's selling you the so called 3.5 engine as BMW started putting them into e32 as early as 1988. The easiest way I think is the intake manifold support.

      B34 says 3.2/3.4 on the intake, b35 says 3.5

Have you made a purchase from www.blunttech.com recently?

also I believe theres an extra coolant channel on the back of the head, closest to the firewall. Check the manifold, and I think there may be a 3.5 on the engine block as well.

Exhaust manifolds themselves have different output flanges, IIRC
