M30 : Buyer's Guide

Have a line on one. It is pulled and sitting covered atop a pallet. It is an M30B35. With harness. No trans. It is reported to be from an '89 535. Under 100k miles.


How do I give this thing a once over to determine I am not buying a money pit or boat anchor?

Remove valve cover and check oil spray bar banjo bolts for tightness. Jump the starter to do a compression test.
