    Is this crankshaft still good?

    Hello r3v

I'm rebuilding a m30b35 and I've found some cracks at the flywheel bolt holes.

It seems like whomever did the clutch/flywheel impacted the bolts on and over-torqued them.

There is small cracks on each hole, this one being the worst.

Not keen on scrapping an otherwise perfect crank..

    Reuse/repair/replace?

That would be a tough repair and I wouldn't want to use it as is. Do they spread apart more when you torque it properly to the flywheel? I don't think your crank seal would last very long. If I were you I would start looking for a good used one.

Just say no to crack. Seriously though do it right and do it once.

Appreciate the advice, The cracks don't open up when I torque it properly and I assume it ran for quite sometime this way.

Machine shop can do a grind-weld-lathe&tap but $$$

All things considered I'd rather not clench my cheeks every time the clutch makes a funny noise so ill pick up another crank.
