So slightly heavier than the M30 (around the weight of an S38), but the weight will be further back with the V6... will be totally fine.Leave a comment:

Relatively heavy, close to 500 pounds fully dressed. My understanding is that this is around a 100 pounds heavier than the M20 currently in the car. While I wish I was reducing weight, not adding it, this is a compromise I'm willing to take for several reasons: these engines can be gotten for very CHEAP, I'm hoping to be making close to 250hp which is a big step up from the M20, and finally despite what people say, I'm not super worried about the extra 100 pounds inhibiting my performance. This is just a street car, and I can add a 200 lb passenger in and barely notice the difference. Furthermore, people regularly turbo cars and don't complain that it ruined the handling characteristics of a car, and turbo kits usually weight upwards of a 100 pounds.Leave a comment:

Well today was a big day for me, I cut a chunk out of the bellhousing for the starter and got the transmission bolted to the engine! I still need to confirm that the input shaft is in fact centered in the crankshaft, then I need to make a pilot bushing and confirm that my clutch package looks like it should work. I'm trying to figure out where and when I can pull the engine out of the e30 and start getting this engine in.Leave a comment:

I like that, might need to look into it ;D
I wish I had the budget for an ecoboost, but unfortunately I'm a college kid. I believe within the last year Ford released a stand alone engine management system that makes an ecoboost swap much easier.Leave a comment:

Quick update here: tomorrow morning I'm waterjetting the basic shape of the adapter plate out of 1/2" aluminum, and then it will be on to the mill to get dimensionally accurate holes. I waterjetted a plate of thin aluminum that slipped over the dowel pegs and had a hole in the middle, which allowed me to measure to the crankshaft of the engine and input shaft of the transmission to make sure the two bolt patterns are perfectly centered on each other- which they weren't. I'll just shift the two patterns relative to each other in autocad. The pipe is a slip fit over the input shaft of the transmission and just extended it out so that I could get a reading.Leave a comment:

Thank you, they're more than I wanna pay though. I'm prolly gonna try to get some free ceiling light panel and if it works, I'll do another write up on it.Scroll down to the Turn Signals section: http://www.abrahamsmotorsport.com/e30.html
I bought them from Abrahamas back when they were selling real MHW clears, it looks like they only have kopis (replicas) now.
Thank you! Whenever I think about having this completed I get a burst of motivation
Thanks! I was already subscribed to the thread, but this is what I was looking for.Leave a comment:
