Would you pay $2800 for S50 installed

Met a fellow who owns a shop in town that specializes in German shite. He has a complete S50 swap he's selling. Was asking $3500. I offered my entire M20 driveline in trade plus some money to give/install the S50. I pick the trans (could use some help here).

This includes fully functioning AC PS all of that and a 30 day warranty on drivability and leaks etc etc.

    Would you?

            That's a steal.
I'm almost 2k into doing the m52 swap by myself.

Sounds like a great deal to me too.

My M30 swap set me back around $2800 and that was doing everything myself, and scoring my engine and manual transmission for only $250. The rest was spent on refreshing things - gaskets / water pump / hoses / radiator / belts / clutch kit + the various extra bits needed to get the engine and transmission into the car.

A shop offering all this at $2800 would be losing money even if the engine was already free. I'd jump on this.

Any upgrades you guys would recommend while the engine is out? I'd love to be at around 260hp when it's all said and done

you'll be hard pressed to achieve that kind of number without cams and something else to pair with it.

that price is too low... almost low enough for me to be worried about the quality of the work.

That was my first thought too but the engine is still in the car and I heard it run and he offered up the warranty. I may ask for 60 day warranty just for comfort sake but if he will refresh the motor and warranty it kind of eliminates the concern don't you think

Pricing for a full refresh, install and a/c should be around $8k in the L.A. market.

Sounds 2 cheap, what's the M20 motor worth?
I like the 60 day war....
Maybe they just want the experience, maybe they are training someone?
I would also be concerned on the wiring, making it look good, not show quality but at least like factory might have done it.
