    2 questions:

Anyone have a problem with the timing not lining up with a new timing chain?

And how hard is it to convert an M30 to an M102/106, basically just adding the turbo, do you need any different electronics?

Have you searched over at mye28.com? Most suggest to get the M106 electronics. M30 CPU doesn't know what to do with positive pressure in the intake. I may be wrong, after all it is 5 in the morning, but I can point you in the direction of a couple people with the M106 set up on their M30s.

...haha, I left this window open and never hit submit. oops!

M102/106 have oil jets in the main bearing journals and the electronics differ quite a bit I believe. I think the pistons are also different in that they use thicker / heavier duty rings.

Funny you mention it though because in 15 minutes I'm going to look at, and hopefully buy a complete 745i Turbo so I can tear it's heart out and stuff it in my 5 or my 6!

lookin forward to bein able to buy some mounts for an 86 535i into an 89 325i sometime in the next few months, hoping price is right.... I wouldnt mind building my own but just for the sake of not having it at my work too long because I dont have a shop. putting the engine in at least in 1-2 days would be great.

YOUR BUILD LOOKS GREAT, TURBO IT SOON!!!! hahaa

Oh and I was workin in my engine bay, and out of nowhere, my charcoal canister pissed at least a gallon of gas.... I know for a fact I have the 3 fuel lines in the right place, so the gas came out of the evaporation line. Anyone know why? I'm glad this didnt happen while i was welding. It did it about 4 times throughout the day.
