    Injector Question

Getting ready to install #19 Des III Bosch injectors. Currently fitted with 2 O-rings. Comparing them to the original, they dont have the plastic cap and that plastic ring above the O-ring that seals the injector at the manifold. Are the cap and ring needed for the Des III type?
If so, anyone know of a source and/or part #?
    TIA.

If each of the injectors are like the one in the picture, then that is how they are supposed to be. just install like normal. (do NOT remove them - they are very brittle)
if not, you are in for a headache. i went through this in early sept.
you will have to do a search on the net for any injector service shop and ask if they have extra of this specific pintle cap to sell. the o-rings are common part, pick em up anywhere.

if anyone has a way of finding these orange pintle caps, let us know. i had a bosch parts list for injectors but was unable to do anything with the numbers as no one carries this specific cap.

yup he is right. You can not source those caps anywhere. Actually I did find a place in australia that makes them but you had to buy 10k+ of them. Regular ones from design I or II are about 15-30 cents.

of course you can get them. what you do is spend $80 to have them cleaned and flow tested with all new o-rings, screens and caps. it's well worth it, you'll basically be getting an entire set of brand new injectors for the cost of 1-2 new ones.

I sent mine to www.cruzinperformance.com. You'll get your injectors back in brand new condition as well as a chart showing the before and after differences. here's mine:

two of my injectors completely failed the first test, after the service was performed they were all within 1-2% of each other. if you just stick in random used injectors, you have no idea what you're really getting. this service is a bargain.
