    The reason it took your dad forever is probably because one the AFM is tinkered with, it's near impossible to get it set back to stock, since the spring is 'laser-calibrated' or something like that. "Approximate" is the best it gets.

    For that reason, I suggest you find a good used AFM (for what, $50?) and tinker with that.

      Yeah, you should be able to get pretty close. Todd from TCD said that the AFM adjustment is basically all they do for the non intercooled setup. Have fun!

      I'm pretty sure that's basically what I said... It took him forever because there was no reference mark and he lost control of it. Either way, approximate is better than it was from the factory, since the AFM that he's got on his car (L-Jetronic by the way) is from a 3.0si, and he has a 3.5. Don't worry, we got it covered.
