    Need some ideas........

    Thoughts .......
My 86 335is runs and drives good. But it needs a head gasket, door locks and some other little adjustments.

I also have a hard to find e30 91 318is. No sun roof, black on black, nice interrior. This is the car I am not sure of?

    Choices..
    1. Extream: Send the car to my cousin's shop in beaverton for an extream role cage, then my turbo power plant and go from there.
    2. Sell the car and try to recover what I have into it.

From experience, option 2 is never going to happen. That is, the "recover what I have into it" part. Since you cannot have too many BMWs, keep what you have AND search out your dream 318iS.

"recover what I have into it" I am not really worried about It's more or less building a car that will support the power that I have.
I just said the 318 because the body is stronger that most e30's "No Sunroof"

Pssssh, screw the 318. Head gaskets are easy, seriously... It's a lot of work, but it's nothing that you can't do if you are moderately skilled in DIY mechanics.

You have a 335 dude, no 318i / is is going to provide the same amount of fun or be nearly as cool (I am biased, of course )... Fix your 335, get a cage, and proceed with your plan to turbo it. A sunroof shouldn't really be a big factor once you have a cage anyway, plus you remove it and weld up the roof if really want it gone badly enough.

I also have a black 1991 318is rolling chell This hole thred is about turning the 318 into a 335isturbo drag/show car and I have enough resorces to fab up any thing I want and/or will work in this job

The question is what to do with the 318. ether way this is just the hobbie/funcar and hear soon I will have some time on my hands

A e30 w/o sunroof will never be much stronger than one with. The sunroof is like a round hole.

Take a engineering class, structures don't need volume to have strength. Case in point - the "I" beam, bridges, buildings...shall I go on?

Drill a *huge" hole in a 2x4. Is it any less "stiff"? Nope? Can you you break it easier? Yep...

              Two different things.

My 2 cents - now, WHAT were we talking about?
