M30 guys: What diff to use?

I am running a Getrag 280 with a lightweight flywheel, and a 3.46 diff.
LOVE. IT.
It would probably be no fun in a heavier car, but for an E30, I think it's perfect.

1st - 40 mph
2nd - 67 mph
3rd - 105 mph
4th - over 140mph
5th - no telling.

How do I know which kind of G265 I have? I'm pretty sure I have the OD one.

The CR265 is more commonly referred to as a "dogleg". 1st gear is down, to the left. 5th gear is down, to the right.

right. But my transmission is sitting on the pallet next to my engine right now. It would be great if I could check a number on it somewhere or something...

ahhh. I dont know how to tell by the numbers. Can you hook up the shift linkage?

I'll go out on a limb and say that there is only a 0.0001% chance you have a dogleg sitting in your garage...

Ive got an E34 3.91 sitting here, id like to find a way to mod the subframe to get it to fit because the diff is such a big unit that it would well and truely handle the torque. But a 3.91 would be such a crap ratio, ive got a 2.93 lsd sitting here which will probably go in it until it dies.
