The M30 is around 15lbs heavier than an S50 iirc, the M30 is 315lbs.

Yeah, I bet 30mpg is very possible in an E30. My 3200lb 533i gets 27+mpg on the highway with higher flowing injectors and bumped up fuel pressure.

              I think all 533is came with a 3.45... I've never checked mine, but I'm doing around 3150rpm @ 80mph in 5th for what it's worth. 225/50/16 Yokohama AVS ES100s.

any measurements as far as oilpans are concerned? like distance to the ground at stock height?

I didn't think the oil pan looked much lower than stock honestly, I thought it had adequate clearance. I'd still go with one of the 666 skid plates or something though if you plan on running really low.

Probably so but if I am not mistaken I think Alpina did offer a e30 with the m30 in it

I'm using the Engine harness from the car I bought. the '88 325 supereta engine harness. it's already motronic 1.1, so it's completely compatible with the Motronic 1.3 from the E32 engine.

Just extend some of the wires in order to reach the sensors on the M30 engine that are in different locations.

hmmm, I used the M30b35 harness with an adapter. Even though the correct pins are in the c101s, mine still doesnt work. sigh.
