I'd rather see that motor put in a locost or some kit car than in a car that has plenty of motor offerings from within the family. Fab skills, totally... I (and others) just hate the idea of a non BMW engine in a BMW. Shit, put that motor in a new Lotus Elise and I'd love it to death!

though on some level the 4g63 is a compelling motor, the simple fact that mitsubishi as a company is such a pile of shit and has the longest list of half-assedness of any manufacturer, makes me not like that sway anyway.

SRs get crankwalk when they make upwards of 400whp and they aren't that great of a 2.0L engine. 4g63 is a great engine. The fact the man started a project and is essentially seeing it to the end is whats important. I'd rather see a unique project build. Then atypical m52 swap that gets half-assed or never completed.Comment

Why in the world would you buy an E30? if you like jap imports so much, just go get one. Why go bmw then put a heart of a Jap import in it? Makes absolutely zero sense. E30 isnt exactly the best chassis, why why why... this mod is pointless.Comment

i completely disagree. 100% i think the e30 chassis is awesome. go ahead and flame me for that if you want. i just want more power but i dont want to put a big 80s iron block up front. maybe i want to do it just to say that i did. maybe i want a car that can smoke cars that cost 10x more. Maybe i want to do it to prove that the e30 IS an awesome car and that it has HUGE potential-- in fact thats exactly what im after in my project. When I finish ill post pics, and i'm sure ill get flamed like everybody else on here thats done something other than put an m or s series in the e30. ill also be out there proving the e30 is a car to be taken seriously.
