M30 Twin TB mod

looks like a cool mod. It would definitely be a good low end response boost. But how much is the real question.

Well i'll not be able to tell properly till it's mapped but i'll post my 1/4 mile times for rough comparision sake.

Last years best time was 14.4secs ranging up to 14.8 on a 3.64 diff ratio.

This year with the new TB but with out propper mapping and a longer 3.46 diff ratio i did ;

4 x 14.3
3 x 14.4
1 x 14.5

So not much of a gain so far but i'll have to wait till it's mapped to see what's happening.

E30 with S38b36 13.5
E30 335 turbo 7psi 13.8
E30 with M50b28(with mods ???) 14.2

That's awesome. How did you block the other side of the manifold off? Where the throttle body goes normally? This mod would complement a turbo setup with air-to-air beautifully.

Thanks guys, the old hole was blocked up with a small square of alloy plate which was tig'd on.

I thought that was an Audi or VW TB at first glance. How much extra intake noise is there?

It's hard to atribute any change to the TB because the air filter set up has changed from a big K+N cone to the CDA.

Mind i'd be hard push to say one's louder than the other, the tone is slightly better with the CDA though.

Probobly not worth it on a fairly stock engine runing on Motronic/AFM
