My sr20/e30 swap is almost done just gotta tidy up the hoses and run gauges.
Dont bother asking on this forum. High brow attitude rules supreme. If it doesnt have an S52 in it no one gives a shit.

TopOfTheLine89 is actually right, all the 300's had v6's in them. That there is a Nissan 200ZR, similar though.

Lsx/t56 Swap progress |----------| .0000000005% - Well below poverty line.

              Sadly, it's true.

I'd like to hear more about your swap!

do not use the vg30dett. that is the most hated motor to work on. changing sparkplugs requires removing the upper intake mani not too mention they are heavier then RBs and they each weigh over 500lbs. RB motors are super long. L28s or L20s would be fun and cheap and plentiful, with ITBs a nissan motorsports header, mikuni sidedrafts. it would definitely be an eye opener. better yet go for a 3rd gen 3stge. Easy to make 400hp with and when placed in a rwd car (since it would be donated from an mr2). the intake and exhaust line up the same as the stock m42/m20 engines

VG30DETT, which is the 300ZX engine, is a very annoying engine to tune/maintain. On the stock 300ZX, I heard that you need to REMOVE the engine to do some basic maintenance. Wouldn't recommend that.

An SR20 is a good idea. However, having been an owner of a 240SX, I would recommend a KA24DE engine, since they're readily available. They having a higher tuning potential than the SR, and are 2.4s. My stock KA would rev up to around 7000 safely, stock. There are turbo kits available everywhere online. It's a heavy engine though.

Quick note: If you can get your hands on a VQ35, that's a nice powerplant to start with as well. 280bhp stock, and loads of torque. Good luck finding one cheap, though.

Might as well stick an M30 in it and go crazy with that.

About the 3s, the exhaust side of the motor usually is on the passenger side of the car, the 3s would have it on the drivers side. i had thought of the 3s since i am an MR2 guy myself, but i think it would be a difficult swap. youd also have to find an altezza trans w/ a hard to come by bell housing.
However, id be wayyy down to see a 3s e30 i think it would be bad@sss!
I don't think your mom appreciates the value of those modifications

you you are rite about the 3s swap. (typing to fast to correct possible errors). Aside from making a custom intake manifold (to get ride of the horrendous 3s intake manifold design) everything else would be cake. Imagine that. going to a toyota dealership if you want to have them do maintenance, and it be cheap. hmm..... what a thought.

BTW KA24DE weigh around 100pounds more then an SR (remember solid iron block perfect for boost. and an entire .4-Liter more of displacement). Where as the SR used iron cylinder bores.

PM me if you want more insight on the KA powerplant. I have one being built current that should put out about 375hp for comfy daily mover.

BTW my friend told me he builds L-series motors (capable of compete in SCCA GT3 classes)
