    ^my car.....

    The E30M3 tranny mount is a perfect mount with a e30 m30 with a G265.

See above - that is an m30 in an e30 with a G265....It's my car. Perfect fit - So, I kinda know....

    So - there it is....

Are your 265 mounting ears on the side flat? That's one reason we didn't tackle it that way, ours are flat...the 265 has the same countoured ears as the 260 in the m3, which aren't flat.

Edit: I really appreciate you putting a helpful pic up! BTW are you using the m20 power steering pump with m30 bracket or whole m30 ps assembly?

No the ears are perfectly angled to the tranny mount. I am using the M30 PS pump. Other than that - it's plug and play.

        Hey George,
I am looking maybe to get alittle more stable of a tranny mount, mine was custom welded by the PO.
Would this give the right Part # M3 tranny mount you used?

I'm guessing there was only 1 M3 tranny mount used but let me know. Thanks

That doesn't look right to me, I'd just hit up s14.net. I think I got my for $25 shipped.

alright, I have noticed that RealOem pics just don't look right. Have ordered stuff and has come out right though. I'll look at s14.net. Mine is the regular 318i's cut in half, turned around and welded back on..yea that might break.

Well we got the tranny mount issue solved. We ended up using a crude sheetmetal mount from a 5 series automatic. Its the rear style mount with just one mount. This will get us by until we can find something more appropriate.

George, thank you for your assistance with the M3 mount. It has been a bit confusing and I have to admit this swap has turned into a bit more work then I was expecting, but custom stuff is never easy.

Part of the issue we where having is that we have 2 brand new AKG poly urethane tranny mounts and would like to use them. All the mounts including the M3 put the mounts at a angle... At least from the Real OEM views. I understand these are not always correct but without seeing the mount in person its hard to determine.

In the near future we will revisit this issue but for the time being the mount problem is solved.

As a note I also found the original mount that I made this thread about and also madhatter had also posted the part number. I ordered it from the dealer, and the mounts are placed at a angle and we would have to use the factory rubber mounts for that application. Again, we would like to keep the brand new poly mounts.

Thanks again to everyone who responded in kind to help.

I was looking at those pictures and thought they looked familiar. That's MY tranny and engine!
Sorry I was gone so long, and couldn't help!

We found that exact mount at the junkyard today so we bought it. Its to wide to fit the E30 chassis. You would have to cut it in the center and shorten it about about 1.5".

I have to assume you haven't done your swap yet.

                    Not quite yet...
Thanks for the heads up on my wallet getting thinner. I can barely see it now.

Plus one on the e30 m3 tranny mount - I feel much safer with it controlling front to back movements on the drive train - it is a very sold mount - despite the fact that the part is feels like cheep "pot" aluminum.

I am also using this transmission and I am currentlylooking for a e30 m3 cross member.

But my question is which parts did you use for the shifter? Were you able to use all of the stock e30 parts or did you use parts from a 535 or other car?

I need to find myself an m3 crossmember as well. George graves...you were right, experience wins. My crossmember sucks. Where can I find one of these, besides s14.net?

Oh and how the fuck did you use late model shift linkage with the old style shifter plate? I is confused.
