    I've the engine in position "2,5". The distributor hasn't touched radiator (E28 535 rad), even though i've driven it +7000km, sometimes quite hard.

    Yes, the engine is really close to firewall, but it doesn't touch it. The firewall hasn't been modified at all.

    I'm not saying that you shouldn't fit the engine as far back as possible. I'm only saying that the engine can be fitted without any modifications to the firewall and still use E28 535 radiator.

      I got mine back as far as the pan would let me, this should balance out the car a little better.
