Ah, it's all coming along quite nicely.

To be honest give me all the grease, dirt.... hair?... You want. It still has to be better than RUST!
BTW, the b35 needs some cleaning + paint.

The B35 will definitely get a thorough cleaning before I slip it in.

In other news, I'll be adding yet another special BMW to the stable this weekend... A genuine euro spec M535i! I'll post some pics.... If anyone is interested in a nice DS on black 535is with some tasteful modifications, PM me for details. It's for sale now.

Aw shit, it's not an M535i, just a euro 535i. The vin decoder comes back with a sports gearbox option however, so it might still be worth picking up.

The four piece Getrag 265 is an awsome box, got one in my e30 ;)

I had a 265 in my 335i as well, but after further inspection this car has the basic Getrag 260/6... Nothing special unfortunately. My 6er has the UBER rare 262CR which is a 265 housing but with the dogleg pattern and 1:1 5th gear. :pimp:

Alright! Finally got off my ass and removed the smoky old B34 today. Went off without a hitch! Dropped it out the bottom as that seems to be the easiest way as long as you have three good floor jacks and a nice piece of plywood to set the assembly on once it's on the ground. On to the sheety pictures.

Front suspension off, exhaust off, driveshaft outta there. Engine is ready to drop.

*blarf* Engine is on the floor. Only takes about 5 minutes to get her down safely by yourself.

Here's a great shot of the greasy old mill and the nasty ass hole that is lived in for the past 25 years.

Popped the new front subframe on (not painted yet) and rolled the car out to get my scrub on. Two hours, a few scotch brite pads and some old toothbrushes later, and we have a pretty damn respectable looking engine bay. The car will be getting painted soon so I didn't mess with the sound deadening / heat shield material on the firewall at all.

Need to clean up those heater fan housings now that I'm looking at the pictures... More to come later!

That red wire that runs across the firewall and down the passenger inner fender is the jumper for the main relay. A few of you guys know what I'm talking about ;)

It seems that a lot of M30 swaps into earlier cars require a jumper from the positive terminal on the coil to the center pin of the main relay in order to start. Same situation here except it was an early engine harness interfacing with a later chassis harness. It has to do with the C103/C104 plug in the dash. Sometimes they just don't seem to want to work together.

If you wouldn't mind, could you please take some pictures of the shifter rods and shift lever for me, I think I need that particular setup for my 335i, Your engine bay is looking great! If only it didn't have that ugly ABS unit...

Got the dogleg box in the trunk of my Milano... I honestly didn't think it was going to fit, but ti barely made it in there. Off to work to be cleaned and freshened up!

Hey dude, I plan on using this particular shifter for my e30 335i, I'm going to make it work eh.

My old 260 and I think I put my 265 into my e30 boot/trunk... Fit like a glove however I didn't have the shifter still on!

Aw crap, I forgot the pictures... After work! I promise!

By the way, I used the steel plate type shifter (the one you see above) on a Getrag 265 from a euro 635CSi in my 335i swap and it worked without any modifications.

                                Hmmm, interesting.

Even if that style shifter needs modifying it will be alot better than my rod style which is in it now...
