I got a spal kit on ebay, cheapest price and best warranty. Not the cheapest brand but probably the best brand out there. I just connected it where the aux fan is. Remove fan clutch and have no overheating issues in stop and go traffic here in Miami, FL in the summer. In the hotest days, the needle creeps up with AC, but then the fan turns to high speed and it is ok. So I would only recommend this setup if your cooling system including aux temp switch is working 100%. Less work for engine without clutch so I can save gas and gain hp.

how much did you pay for it? how do you just hook it up to your aux temp switch?

i am looking but the cheapest Spal fan is about $65, which is more expensive than a fan clutch. And also, was it a universal puller fan, or made for the M42? and what was the fan diameter?

Look at my profile for pics of install. I got th 14" and cable tied it to condensor. I wired it to the resistor just like the stock one, just had to splice cables. So it would work just like the aux fan, on in low speed with AC on and then high if the temp switch said so. Or with no AC if the temp switch would hit 91 degrees, it would go on low, high on 99. It is a univeral pusher. If the fan would be in the engine bay, it would bee a puller. Mine was about $90 I think. I can get you the model number but have to look for it. I got the best 14" with the slimest body. There are better ones but a little bigger in thickness.
