    engine mounts

I'm replacing the stock mounts and I've heard about using E28 ones but do I use M5 mounts or 535 ones?

E28 535i ones. You have to cut off a locator tab.
    The current fleet:
    1992 325ic: 148k-171k miles
    1999 Chevrolet Tahoe LT 4WD, 114k-142k miles
1984 MasterCraft Stars and Stripes Powerslot (not a car :D) PCM Ford 351W, 904 hours

the part number ends in 793. I just did it and prepare for a more vibrating engine at idle. But acceleration is awesome. Also the passenger side is normally the one that goes bad, so if you want comfort and save money, just buy one. I can get the OEM one for around $90 each.

You don't really have to. You do, however, have to rotate the mounts 180.

Definitely be prepared for more noise/vibration/hardness at idle. As a good girlfriend of mine put it, "your car is really... vibratey"... at which point I necessarily blipped the throttle a few times for good measure ;)

If you don't enjoy noise, vibration and harshness, replace the passenger side mount with a stock one. The driver's side doesn't wear out as much.

I removed the e28 mounts on mine. All that noise and vibration wasnt worth it.
