Thats pretty much what I had on my m42. Custom bent cat back with a resonator and that muffler. Sounded great. Assertive but not too much drone and no rasp at all. I would do it again in a heart beat if I get another 318.

Like said previously the chip is your best bet for cheap power and of course having your engine in great shape maintenance wise is the best bang for your buck you can do.

The mess under the intake is a good place to start.

On another note. If anyone is looking for a not so basic 318 mod then check out my ITB's in the for sale section.

What diameter exhaust piping did you use? Yeah I have a turner chip, definitely helped out.

Forgive my ignorance, but what's ITB's?

Sounds good...i recommended the other due to the tips already being there for you. the actual muffler design is actually the same though ;)

Oh ok, are the gains there? Seems like that be a little pricey? Is there a kit out there?

Definitely gains, but there are also issues with tuning and filtration and everything... for the expense you can have a good swap and get the power. It's more just unique in my opinion.

Yeah there is definitely a "cool" factor with it. Is it a expensive swap? What tuning is involved? Hmmmm, now I'm thinking..........

I've been real tempted to go the SpinTech route whenever I get to exhaust. Sound clips sound wicked but not everyone's flavor.

Damn man, spintech's are chambered like flowmaster's. Not the best at all IMO for a 4 cylinder.
