Hydraulic lifters might not be getting the right oil pressure.

Have you checked your spark plug leads?

ive changed the plugs, it helped but didnt go away. i think it's the oil, because my motor barely turns over in the morning from it being so thick.
almost like the battery being almost dead.

You had mentioned missing so I would check common ignition items. Oil, I run 5w-30 synthetic in my m44 car. Doesn't miss a beat.

i believe it corrolates with the hydrolic lifters not getting the right pressure. so i will try a lighter oil, and i'll see what happens! :)

How light is the oil and how long have you been running it? How old are your plug wires?

How long did you run the 10w40? Does it feel like it starts easier now? It's possible to run a quart of ATF for a couple hundred miles, to try and clean the gunk out of your lifters.

                              im having the same issue
but mine doesnt skip the noise goes away after some minutes driving it

i posted a thread but nobody replied
after nobody helped me nor suggested anything i went to
to where i purchase my parts yesterday
heres what he said to do (hes very knowledgeable)

                              1. change to thinner oil
if that didnt do any good

                              2. chain tensioner piston!!
if that didnt do a whole lot

3.he said it was an issue that m42's had and said it might be due to the timing chain guide rail worn or broken or last resort could be time to change the timing chain and tensioner....

so next week im going to try to change the oil then the piston and then timing chain job oh well

my timing chain tenioner maybe has 10k on it, if that much.

i haven't done my guides, so that could be the culprit.?
