1991 318is Cooling Issues

damn this sounds like hell.

have you checked both auxillary fan and fan clutch? i noticed my aux fan doesnt work so it tends to get hot.

i too have an m42 and i hear they are a bit tricky when it comes to the cooling system. im considering doing a cooling system overhaul. ive been having a number cooling issues of my own.

I eventually figured out what was wrong. Unfortunately it is the worst case, I had emissions in the cooling system which means I have either a blown head-gasket or a cracked head. I have yet to try and fix this. Car has been sitting for 2 months now.
