    That's a small speed bump for the hot air, not a heatshield.

    But you're still not getting air in there...

    Argh, never mind. You've never seen an E30 in a wind tunnel and I can't find my pictures of such to explain it to you. Bottom line, your filter is in a low pressure zone and all it's doing is sucking heat from the radiator, not from the headlight. If you piped it up from the brake duct you'd be getting somewhere.

    it there's really not that much space, and the extentions at autozone are like 25$ apiece, and for minimal gain if any, i didnt bother. When the hood is closed, its actually pretty snug, and stays cool in that area, even with the highbeam back in.

    I would put a pipe between AFM and filter and either move it closer to the grill, or enclose it with a full shield(about 5 inches taller). the radiator gets pretty warm, and you filter seems pretty exposed.

    i have a highbeam deleted, and it channels the cold air directly to the filter. and its a bad angle on top of that, there's only about 2inches of the filter on the backside exposed to engine heat.
