    Check engine light on

I started up my freshly rebuilt M42 yesterday, and the check engine light won't go off.

The car runs, drives and idles like an absolute dream, I don't know what could be causing the light to come on.

Any ideas? Is there a way to "reset" it?

No, I haven't done the stomp test.

Actually the SI is just the one red light. Maybe those need to be reset and the check engine will go off?

SI lights should have nothing to do with CEL. You need to do a stomp test to see what error code it gives for the CEL. Search for stomp test to get the procedures.

Used the code reader. Forgot to plug in the sensor on the charcoal canister.

So its fixed? If not, I'd recommend disconnecting the battery overnight.
