    overheating mystery...

    I need some quick help, from you guys please...

    I pulled the radiator and clutch fan, to access the condenser. (In the middle of an AC rebuild)
    The coolant drained clean. The previous owner was using something other than BMW coolant (green in color) When I buttoned everything back up, the needle just kept climbing. I opened the heater core during the fill, so there shouldn't be air in the system. Any thoughts on what might be causing the overheat?

    You need to bleed the system, what kind of motor is it?

        pretty sure the heater core gets constant flow of coolant...

        bleed system and add coolant if needed

          There is a bleed screw on top of your radiator. You need to jack up the front of the car, turn the heat on high and let the car idle, after it idles for a little while you crack that plastic screw open. Bubbles and coolant will come out, rev the motor a little bit and keep watching for bubbles. When there are very few coming out, go for a short drive, come back and do it again. Until you're happy with the temp.

              would a steep inclined driveway work as well? Last time i bled mine, i did it on a flat/level surface. Probably why im running alittle high
