    expansion tank removal 91 318i

I have removed the 2 allen screws and the bleeder screw. I have removed the black cap off the expansion tank but this thing is stuck in there. I pryed with a screw driver near the bottom where the leak is coming from but it has only moved upwards barly an 1/8 of an inch. I didn't want to pry like a barbarian for fear of cracking the plastic on the radiator. if prying is the way to removal then where is the safest place to pry from and with what?

heat it up. get a really good hair dryer. you can use a torch too but you gotta be real careful not to melt the plastic.

heat it up and it should come apart

yep it can be a pain in the butt to pop loose, but it will. I would heat the radiator, not the expansin tank
        lots of wiggling
but ........you are dealing with plastic nearly 20 years old
        its gonna be fragile
