M42 motor mounts vs. M44 motor mounts

Has anyone tried using E36 M44 motor mounts for an M42 powered E30? Or vise versa?

The PN's are different, and cross referencing does not show that they are interchangeable.

The M44 hydraulic mounts are much cheaper than M42 mounts. I currently have E28 mounts but my GF is going to be driving the car starting in the spring and i dont think she likes how much engine noise/vibration is passed through the solid mounts.

          Has to be the subframe. Part# 11811141377 is good for all E36 M42 & M44, and for the Euro E36 M40 & M43.

But # 11811137076 is only good for the E30 M42.

I'll tell ya what i'll do, IF I have time on Saturday I will shoot to the junkyard and pull some mounts from an E36 M4x and see what the difference is. I have a spare E30 front subframe sitting in my basement so i'll be able to take a good luck.
