I don't think it is that hard. It would take you a day to change it all, but if you don't know squat I would get someone to do it for you. As you will be removing the timing parts and if you don't put them back in the right timing you will have your self some bent valves.
the reason it takes so long is you need to remove the Radiator, fan, belts, water pump, thurmostat, aircon condensor, harmonic balencer, then the front casing, cam cover, then dissasemble the timing componets. Then reassemble.
The hardest part for me was removing the aircon there is a million bolts to that fucker.Leave a comment:

My brother had the same problem and as stated above, he had to change the chain, guide and sprockets, fun times with the m42.Leave a comment:

Loud Ticking
In the last couple of weeks, my car has been making a very loud, diesel-sounding, ticking noise from the engine bay after fairly high rev driving, or downshifting. What could be the issue? Fingers-crossed that it isn't the head gasket..Tags: None
