also have a new theory what if the v belt for the alt / water pump is on to lose or tight? would this cause similar problems how much slack is there on your guy's belts? -
I've been air locked.
I generally follow the same instructions as these guys, but I reverse fill the upper radiator hose. I fill the upper hose with coolant (which fills the head directly) until the hose itself is almost full, then attach the hose to the radiator. Then I'll run the car, and "massage" the lower radiator hose. You should be able to hear the coolant squirting from the upper hose into the radiator. The lower hose should remain cool until the thermostat opens and circulates the hot coolant.. then you should check the radiator and fill the reservoir.
I've done this like 3 times in the last 2 months trying to find a coolant leak, no problems. It was coming from my thermostat housing.Leave a comment:

So yesterday I checked the heatercore coolant was circulating through it, still does the same thing actuly when the gauge read 3/4 I took the cap off and put a thermo inthere it. Only read a bit over 140 "degrees. Pulled the rad and water pump water pump was a metal impellar item and did not appear defective
Im starting to think the cluster is faulty. And will pull that tomarrow and mess with the wiring And grounds back there And if that doesn't work I'm prob going to put one of my spare motors in it m52 or small block chevyLeave a comment:
