Try tightening the gauge ground. It may be loose and be giving a false reading. Mine didLeave a comment:

no i have not only have the gauge to go by but it seems to be working,
the big issue is the heat is not work when it was before i did the stat and housing

have you measured the temperature any other way other than the stock gauge..? might be the gauge.Leave a comment:

why is my m42 still over heating?
so ive replaced the thermostat, then notice the stat housing had a crack in it so replaced that( did not drive it with cracked housing), filled and bleed the cooling system, even jacked up the front the second time i bled it,
filled up the tank till no bubbles came out of the bleeder screw. started the car ran it for about 45 min to an hour never even hit the middle on gauge ( only went to the 1/4 mark), no steam on anything drove it round the block and it went to the half way mark and slowly started creeping up to 3/4's.
my only thoughts are possibly tank cap?
im really getting frustrated now and could use the help guys would like to drive my car some day soonTags: None
