If it is not the belts, then I would imagine it would be some type of bearing. Let us know how it goes.

Hi all, yes I have fixed it for now, it seems like my alternator belt was loose so I tightened and it went away for now, its been about a week, *crosses fingers. Although last night I heard it squeal but a different lower tone squeal just for a little bit and went away, hopefully it doesn't come back.
Ill definitely keep you guys updated. Thanks.

Although its normal for belts to squeal under moisture, I'm going to let the more knowledgeable guys chime in. ;)

Those brackets are chintzy at best. Yay, BMW. I'm an "Emergency Garage Mechanic" for a neighbor with a '91 318i and he just broke his alternator belt. After replacement, the new one broke. Bad water pump bearings. He's in process of getting a new water pump and yet another alternator belt. Luckily the alternator bracket has survived 20+ years of adjustment and my own recently.
Glad you tightened the belt and that solved the problem but, if you haven't addressed the water pump or alternator/bracket in awhile (remove, clean thoroughly and replace anything that looks even remotely worn) I would look into doing so in short order. My neighbor was stranded at the bottom of our 875' elevation hill with a dick HOA that threatened within 2 hours to tow his vehicle.Need a part? PM me.
