M42 e30 water pump won't come out help!!!

    Ok..

So I noticed some coolant leeking out of what appeared to be my water pump and after doing a little research was led to believe it was the "O" ring inside..(simple fix) so I ordered the o ring got the fan off and tried pulling it out with the 2 6pm bolts that I was told to use to pull I out.
In the process I broke one bolt off inside the pull hole and cracked off the other area where the second push hole is.. I have a new water pump now and cannot get the old one out, I have tried anything I could think of to pull and bang it out..

Please any advice would be greatly appreciated

    It's a 1992 318ic e30 w/ m42

    Thanks

Sounds like you need my handy dandy homemade slide-hammer-with-vice-grips tool. If I lived in Miami I'd bring it over.

Sounds like a bit of pipe wrench lovin is needed. If the old unit is cracked and trashed now, grab ahold of the shaft area with a pipe wrench and try to twist it a bit. Don't go too far clockwise or you chance breaking the outer timing cover. Just go back and forth a bit to get it loose. It also might help to get the thermostat housing out of the way. More work, but a much clearer shot at the waterpump with it gone.

          Good luck!

hmm try putting the pulley back on and with two pry bars or something like that try to pop it out it doesnt take much to get the thing to come off. i just redid all my timing stuff and this thing came out pretty easy gl.

Did you use the screw hole in the 12 & 6 o'clock position and use the bolt as a jack screw? Is that where you broke both the bolts?

Can you make another hole the re-thread to be used for a jack screw? Some members here tried hammering it to pieces then pull it off... If the jack screw hole is broken, can you remove the broken bolt, then fix it with jb weld then jack screw it again?

                          See the 6 holes?

you use basically the 4 corners, remove the bolts from there, and the middle holes, you use the same bolts, and bolt them in. It forces the pumps out by screwing them in, sorry if that was redundant, maybe this pic helps
