    ac delete question...

so i crashed my e30 and the whole front end was wrecked, took the condenser and the aux fan out since they were broken from the accident. bought a radiator that was full on gunk and rocks and dirt...would that cause my thermostat to get fucked?
since my car cant stay idling for more than 12 minutes then it starts to go past the middle of the gauge....

since i dont have the aux fan, i have a brand new fan clutch but doesnt engage? i bought it sealed and all at mesa performance, they said that maybe the fan clutch was not going to be enough to cool the engine....
    true???
or do i need the aux fan????
or should i go electric fan with no aux fan???

my car starts to overheat while idling and when the car is warm....so while driving temp stays normal.....
also would all the gunk and dirt and rocks the radiator had could cause my thermostat to get fucked???
i found this on the coolant

    :curse:

I think it's more likely to keep it stuck open as supposed to keeping from opening. I would guess the debris is more likely clogging your radiator lines.

You can test your thermostat in a pot of hot water. You can see it open as the temp rises.

The rad is probably plugged up dude, you should consider picking up a new one. They're like $150 for a high quality part.

If you want to go e-fan there's the OE m44 option.

^ swapped my old good working radiator that had a micro hole, that i slapped some of the good stuff and works, but my car still overheats, well after 10 minutes of idling (when the car is up to temp) doesnt overheat while driving all this happens while idling which leads me to believe either thermostat? or i need that aux fan back

What's the outside air temp. when you're getting hot at idle? How long are you idling before you see a rise in temperature? My aux fan was inop before I removed it and I never had this problem. A bit of a cliche at this point but is the system properly bled?

bled it like 20 times already...its cold here in cali right now temp was about 57 degrees...
i would drive the car for about 10 minutes on the street and temp was where it should be got infront of my garage and after about 10 minutes of idling it starts to rise past the middle....
with the clogged radiator it would start to rise after about 2 minutes of idling

Based on experience with my car you shouldn't need the aux fan at those outside temperatures, especially with a healthy fan clutch. I don't think I've ever let the engine idle for 10+ minutes though.

Common sense would dictate that you pick up a new radiator imo. You've got one that's plugged and another that leaks.

lots of people delete the fans altogether, but I would want one if stuck in cali traffic. If the system wasn't bled completely you would likely see a dancing temp gauge on your dash. If it's fine while you're driving, there's def a flow problem. Did your water pump get smashed in the accident?

well the radiator hit the fan and clutch and bent the fan, the water pump seems to be pumping, but how would check it??????
its spinning straight, no leaks, no noises, or anything...
